As you may already know the Academy are currently taking part in the 2012 Irn Bru Cans for Youth Teams project.
The competition ends in just over a week and we need your help to collect as many cans as possible.
The project involves youth teams from all over Scotland in competition with each other to win £10,000 for their club.
For the past few weeks the people of South Ayrshire have shown a massive support to the club and we so far have collected 6193 cans which leaves us currently sitting with £2,500 in the prize fund and number 3 in the league behind Queen of the South and Hamilton Academicals.
The competition will end on May 5th and we are sure that, with your help, we can reach the number 1 position and collect the £10,000 for our youth teams.
We are asking all Ayr United fans and people of South Ayrshire to help us reach the top of the table.
Irn Bru, Diet Irn Bru and all other Barr drinks cans are eligible.
Local pubs and business in the area are still giving us fantastic support with The Black Bull, The West Kirk, Rabbies, The Market Inn, Boswells, Central Bar, The Malt Cross, McCabes, Smiths, Willy Wastles, Tam O’Shanter, Wee Windaes, Fire House, O’Briens, The Brig, Campbelltown Bar, Wellington’s and The Station Hotel all collecting their empty cans for us.
So why not pop in to one of them and ask for an Irn Bru!
There is also a distinctive Irn Bru collection bin situated at Morrisons, Tesco’s and Subway at Ayr Central where you can drop off any cans collected at home. Or, if you prefer you can bring your cans to the Ayr United Shop at Somerset.
Every single penny that we receive will go towards the development of our youth teams. We hope to receive as much money as possible but can only do it with your help.
We will be collecting the last of the cans on Friday 4rd May in order to get them in on time so can you please bring your cans in and deposit them before then.
The Academy would like to thank everyone in the area who has helped us so far in the competition but we know with one final push we can make it to the top of the table and collect the £10,000 prize.
If you have any questions, or if you would like to help in the collection then please contact Thomas Donavan on 07834 998620.
