AUFA Coaches Leave the Academy

It is with regret that we announce that two U13’s coaches, John Kelly and Louis Anderson have decided to leave Ayr United Football Academy to concentrate on their Youth Club commitments.

Both John and Louis started 2 years ago with the Academy, taking the U12’s Development Squad team. It soon became clear to them that they were working with some great young footballers and because of this John and Louis decided to take on the challenge of managing the boys in the U13’s Youth Initiative league the following season. During the year their team played some great football and at all times were really exciting and enjoyable to watch. It became clear that the dynamic duo were nurturing the talent and clear to see that they were developing a group of young players who are capable of going to the top.

However John and Louis continued to manage their Youth Clubs while with the Academy and have found it difficult to give time to both teams as well as carrying out their “day jobs”. Hence the reluctant decision to move on.

Head of Youth David White said:

“John and Louis are both very experienced and passionate footballing people and the knowledge and experience that they have passed on to our players has been fantastic. I would like to commend them for the time and commitment that they have given to the U13’s this season. This age level is one where coaches can make a huge impact on personal development and the way that the boys have played as a group and individually throughout the season is a great credit to John and Louis. I would personally like to wish them luck with their Youth Club teams who I am sure that will benefit from the two of them being able to give the players more of their time.”

The Academy Board would also like to add it’s thanks to the two volunteer coaches and assure them that it will do its best to appoint coaches who will pick up where they left off, to ensure that they have left their young players in safe hands.
