Ayr United Whites Under 11’s v Dalry Rovers and Kilbirnie
Coaches Richard McCutcheon and David McIntosh took charge of the white team that faced Dalry Rovers and Kilbirnie on Dalry’s home soil.
Ayr United Whites v Dalry Rovers Ayr started the game brightly with Nicole Wilson running right through on goal which Dalry’s goalkeeper got down well to save. Tahlar Grant was starting to look dangerous up front and had a couple of good chances which the keeper dealt well with. Dalry then started to get into the game and put Abbie McCall, who was in goals for this game, under pressure but she did well to save a shot from Dalry’s number 10, who was starting to take control of the game. A couple of minutes later Abbie was called into action again getting down well to take the ball from the striker’s feet. Dalry now had Ayr under constant pressure and finally took the lead when the ball was played through and landed at their striker’s feet who fired the ball past Abbie. Tahlar again went close but again Dalry’s goalkeeper did well to keep it out. Dalry then attacked again and scored two quick fire goals to finish the game off.

Ayr United Whites v Kilbirine Ayr United Whites played Kilbirnie in their second and final match of the day. This time the girls started the match brightly and on the attack. Bethany Dempsey, playing in a new role of centre midfield, took control of the game and had a couple of early runs which put their defence under pressure. Kilbirnie then put together a good team move which Samantha Evans did well to clear for a corner. Ayr then started to move up a gear and were now camped inside the Kilbirnie half and Samantha and Bethany combined well to go close to breaking the deadlock. Ayr finally got the goal that their play deserved as Tahlar who went through on goal and place the ball into the bottom corner of the net, scoring her first goal for the club. Ayr won the ball back again through Freya McIntosh and Courtney McWhirter, who had formed a solid partnership in defence, the ball was then passed to Bethany and Ayr had a 3 on 2 attack which resulted in Bethany scoring a goal to make it 2-0 Ayr. The Kilbirnie goalkeeper then made a good save to the score at 2-0. In the last attack of the game Kilbirnie went through on goal but Abbie produced a great save to keep a clean sheet.
