Ayr United Yellows under 11’s v Dalry Rovers and Kilbirnie
Head coach Billy Alexander took charge of the yellow team that faced Dalry and Kilbirnie on Dalry’s home soil.
Ayr United v Kilbirnie
Kilbirnie were first to threaten with a shot that just went wide of the post. Kira Inglis then played a long ball up field, which Kirstin Robinson flicked on into Lauren Kingisepp’s path whose shot produced a wonderful save from the Kilbirnie keeper.
Holly then went a great run down the right wing, but she was pushed off the ball and the defender cleared for a corner. Kilbirnie were back on the attack and were through on goal one-on-one with the goalkeeper, however Kira came rushing out and to make the save. Ayr then got an unlikely goal when Kilbirnie’s goal keeper went to clear the ball but it went over her head and into her own net. Ayr’s defenders Abbie Middleton and Samantha Boyd were on form, as the Kilbirnie attackers were getting little shooting action. Kirstin then showed great skill, beating her opponent out on the right side of the park and slotted the ball into the net to make it 2-0 Ayr. Kilbirnie then had a great chance to score but Kira done enough by making herself big as the attacker shot wide. Kilbirnie then soon scored to half the deficit. In the last action of the game Ayr played some good football as Nicole Storie played a ball into Lauren who flicked the ball towards goal and it went just wide.

Ayr United v Dalry Rovers
In the second game Ayr faced home side Dalry Rovers. Ayr started the game the more dangerous of the two and were first to cause problems. Nicole Storie played a pass into Holly who then set up Lauren, but her effort just went over the bar. Holly then crossed the ball into Nicole Storie who volleyed the ball into the net for to opening the scoring. Kira was then called into action as Dalry picked up their game, but the Ayr goalkeeper produced a great save. Ayr continued to cause problems for the home side and Nicole Storie watched her shot go just wide, then moments later Kirsten hit the post and the rebound was put just wide by Holly. Ayr started playing good passing football, Nicole and Kirsten were linking up with pass after pass together and Kirsten played in Nicole to score and grab her second of the game. Jennifer Nicol and Samantha were playing well in defence together but Dalry found a way back into the game and pulled a goal back to make it 2-1. Dalry almost found the equaliser moments later; however the shot went just wide.
Kirsten then won the ball from Dalry’s defence and scored to make it 3-1 and give Ayr some breathing space.

Goal Scorers: Nicole Storie (3), Kirsten (1)
Player’s player of the matches: Nicole Storie
Team: Kira Inglis, Abbie Middleton, Samantha Boyd, Jennifer Nicol, Holly Hart, Kirsten Robinson, Nicole Storie, Lauren Kingisepp
Coach Billy Alexander said “today we played really well as a team and passed the ball about well. Kira played a great game in nets and kept us in it a lot. Lauren played well up front and had a lot of great shots at goal but unfortunately the keeper made wonder saves, on another day she could have had 3 or 4. The 3 defenders that was used through the two games, Abbie, Jennifer and Samantha made it very difficult for the attackers to get much through on goal, and the 3 midfielders, Nicole Holly and Kirsten created a lot of attacks and gave both Dalry and Kilbirnie a nightmare of a time.
