Academy 13s v Falkirk 13s
The academy 13s entertained Falkirk on Sunday morning at Prestwick Academy. Ayr United started the match looking for an improvement on last week’s game. The teams shape had to improve and it did with Ayr limiting Falkirk to only a couple of opportunities in the first period. The Ayr boys battled against everything Falkirk threw at them however Falkirk managed to score with a well worked goal that saw a tidy finish at the end.
The second period started with the Ayr coaches looking for more of the same from the boys but also to try and create a few more chances. The Ayr boys took this on board and created a couple of chances which just needed a bit more power to cause the Falkirk goalkeeper problems.
The third period saw the home side begin to tire however that didn’t stop them from competing for every ball. Toni Sisi (pictured) filled in at right back and showed he was more than capable of playing there by showing good composure to tackle and started several good attacks.
After the match Ayr coach Declyn Cooper said ‘the match was a massive improvement on last week and proves that with hard work, progress can be made’.
