Academy 13s leave it late to compete

Academy 13s v Queens Park 13s

Ayr United 13s started their match with Queens Park on the front foot from the first whistle. The Ayr boys always knew this was going to be a tough match but there was a couple of good moves from Ayr that brought a smile to the fan’s faces but Queens Park had most of the possession and converted numerous times.

The second period started after a regrouping of the boys and in this period the Ayr boys made things a little harder for Queens Park. Ayr did well to limit the chances Queens Park could create and the overall play improved nearer the end of the period.

The 3rd period was Ayr’s best period and showed how much potential the boys have. In this period Ayr scored their first goal which came from a well worked move which started from goalkeeper David Miller and involved numerous players and was finished in style by Mark McKenzie (pictured). The team grew in confidence and finished the game well. After the game coach Declyn Cooper commented that “there is still a lot to do but the boys are definitely going in the right direction”.
