South West League
Dalry v Ayr United
The girls started off in the same manner to which they played the previous week, with a high tempo and getting in the faces of the opposition to stop them from playing. Dalry took a throw in which Danielle Nicholson managed to get to the bouncing ball first and took it under control and unleashed a powerful shot which the left the Dalry goalkeeper with no chance as it went into the bottom corner. Ayr continued to dominate and within the next ten minutes further goals came from Cobi Welsh (pictured), Amy Miller and a second for Danielle. Dalry started to get a foothold in the game but couldn’t create any real chances and the rest of the half was played out in the middle of the field.
The second half was played in exact same manner as the first and even with substitutes taking place it didn’t disrupt the way the girls went about their job, continuing to pass the ball well and shooting when the opportunity arose. Rhiannon Connelly used her strength well throughout the half to lose her marker and she got the reward with two goals of her own. Ayr continued to press forward but the Dalry keeper pulled off some impressive saves to prevent Ayr adding to the score line.

Andy McMath gave his reaction to the game afterwards “I am really pleased with that performance today; the girls passed the ball well whilst looking to find holes in behind the defence. When the opportunities arose we took our chances well and if it wasn’t for the Dalry keeper being on form we would have scored more. Overall it was a good day at the office.”
