Ayr United v Prestwick
A slightly underwhelming performance that promised much but didn’t show off the girl’s full potential. The girls passed the ball much better in the second half than they did in the first half. In terms of effort and discipline to attempt the individual tasks asked of girls, they could not be faulted for the former and for 90 per cent of the game could not be faulted for the latter. It was the 10 per cent of the time where players failed to communicate, did not spread out, failed to push out of defence, failed to press the ball or did not fully commit to a tackle, were where the crucial mistakes were made that led to the goals conceded. Individual mistakes can now be identified because it shows that we are not being dominated by teams and the girls are improving fast. In the game we had 3 corners in the second half and a long range shot on goal, but hopefully aim to create many more chances in our next game.
