Academy 13s raise their game against Motherwell

Academy 13s v Motherwell 13s

Ayr United 13s entertained Motherwell boasting their biggest squad yet! Before the game coach, Declyn Cooper told the boys to go out and enjoy the game and enjoy it they did. The football that Ayr played was the best of the season and they managed to create numerous chances. They did however concede against the run of play but this didn’t stop them from competing. After plenty of good football Ayr eventually did score after a well worked move was finished by top scorer Gabe Skeoch (pictured). Ayr also had a goal chopped off and created some really good chances in an entertaining first period.

The second period began with optimism and determination within the Ayr team. The football was fast and the boys were strong in the tackle. They conceded one goal in this period which came from a lapse in concentration but this was not dwelled on.

The third period began with Ayr knowing they had to dig deep as their legs began to feel like lead. They gave everything and with their fitness being in question the visitors capitalised. The game finished with Ayr knowing that they did their best and that they gave it their all. After the game coach Decyln Cooper was pleased with the performance and is positive that this team are going in the right direction.
