Academy 13s turn on style against The Pars

Academy 13s v Dunfermline

Sunday’s match started on the back of a great performance the week before. However this week Ayr didn’t start quite as brightly as the prior week but quietly came into the game with midfielder Marc Wardrobe getting a hold of the game. The first period had plenty of chances but the opening goal came from a blunder with the Par’s goalkeeper missing the ball to let Ayr go ahead for the first time this season.

The second period started fast and hard with Ayr playing very well and comfortable from the back. There were chances throughout but Ayr’s second goal came from what many thought was a lost cause. Trialist Craig Garden chased the ball down before whipping in a cross for striker Mark McKenzie who finished well.

The third period started with the boys determined to keep played but fitness also played a part. Ayr scored their third goal with good play out from defence before Kieran Beachamp (pictured) jinked past a player to score a fabulous 25 yard goal. At this stage Ayr started to tire and they allowed Dunfermline back into the with two goals in quick succession but the Ayr boys dug deep and finished well. There’s still plenty to do but no matter what the result was today, the coaching team would have been happy as they played attractive football all day. A big well done goes out to the boys!
