Ayr United v Kilmarnock
This was our first match in quite a few weeks and this was also our last fixture of the 2012 season. Ayr started the game well and the battle was mainly taking place in the midfield, however after a series of errors and mistakes in defence, Kilmarnock were up 4-0 and although Hannah Davies played well in goals, she couldn’t keep the score down and at half time the score was 8-0.
After a good half time team talk Ayr were vastly improved. All the players showed more of an appetite to perform well and we posed a much greater attacking threat, with the team getting forward in numbers. The defence did a good job of pushing out and getting involved in the play, which left Kilmarnock offside numerous times. Hannah McSorely gathered the ball in the middle of the pitch and played an angled pass between the centre backs that found Chanelle who controlled and finished well to gain a consolation for Ayr.
