Academy 20s on the home straight

The Development League West season is coming to a close and in-form Ayr United Academy 20s are looking to end on a high.

The 20s won 2-1 at Albion Rovers last Thursday night thanks to goals from Mark McKenzie and James Hilton.

David White said: “It was a good performance in tricky conditions. It’s always tough at Cliftonhill but we got the job done and we are all looking forward to the last three games.”

The first of the closing three matches is on Friday at Townhead Park, Cumnock where Ayr play Queen of the South.
Then Ayr face Queen’s Park on Monday April 23 at Somerset Park before closing the campaign at Cappielow on Wednesday April 25 against Morton.
The 20s have enjoyed an excellent second half to the season and have won six out of the last seven, including 5-0 wins against Queen of the South and Airdrieonians, plus a 12-0 success over Clyde.
