Community Football Centre News – 4th February

Last week’s theme across our Community Football Centres was Control. Some excellent first touches on display across all of our centres. The young players were challenged to use different parts of their bodies to control the ball and then play passes or take shots.

Well done to all!

The centre nominated for selecting the Star Playerfor the week was the 1stclass at Forehill Primary on Tuesday. A young boy called John showed some amazing control in the weekly challenge and won this week’s Star Player Award.

Well done John!

This week’s theme across all of our centres will be Finishing.

Here’s what Ayr Utd’s goal machine, Lawrence Shankland, had to say about finishing:

There’s no better feeling in football than hitting the back of the net. Teams work very hard to create chances, and as a striker, you’ve got to take as many of these as you can. That means practicing different types of finishing as often as you can. The coaches at the Academy’s Football Centres will give you loads of opportunity to practice these skills, and you can try and score more goals than your mates!

So get yourselves along to one of our centres and learn to finish like Shankland!

Details of the centres can be found here.
