ASN Football

Ayr United Football Academy are proud to run an ASN Football programme that sees over 100 children and adults with Additional Support Needs participating each week.

We deliver weekly in-school sessions at South Ayrshire’s 2 ASN schools – Southcraig Campus, Ayr and Invergarvan School, Girvan. We also deliver weekly sessions at the Support and Wellbeing Centre at Heathfield Primary School where we run integrated classes encouraging mainstream pupils to participate as well as coach and mentor. We also run a weekly session within the Supported Learning Centre at Queen Margaret Academy.

Out of school provision currently runs at Heathfield Primary School where we utilise the recently installed Cruyff Foundation Special Court – The Ally MacLeod Court, as well as the indoor facilities at the school. Heathfield S&W pupils have their own session, followed by an open to all 2-hour session where we have children and adults participating, mentoring and coaching.

The sessions are always tailored to give the participants the opportunity to improve health, both physical and mental, socialise, build relationships and resilience and have the opportunity to ‘upskill’ and gain experience and qualifications.

We are inclusive and open to any person in South Ayrshire that has an ASN, physical condition, behavioural issues or any barrier to mainstream participation.

We are always looking for new participants, coaches and volunteers so if you, or someone you know, would like to participate or volunteer, or just get involved in an amazing programme, please contact stuart.watson@aufa.org.uk
