Ayr United Football Academy would like to express our deepest gratitude to John Crawford for an incredible 20 years of outstanding service.
John has made the decision that the time is right to step away from Ayr United.
John has been so much more than a coach and colleague — he has been a mentor, a role model, and a constant presence in the lives of countless young players, volunteers, and coaches who have passed through our doors. His unwavering commitment, care for every individual, and passion for developing talent have left a profound and lasting legacy.
John has given his all — committed, consistent, caring, and always acting with the Academy’s best interests at heart. His influence has been felt not only on the pitch but also across every part of our organisation.

Everyone who has come into contact with the Academy will be aware of John’s outstanding support to our young players and their families over many years. But his contribution has extended far beyond coaching.
In his role as a Board Director, John has played a critical part in the strategic direction and organisation of the Academy. His tireless enthusiasm, ready wit, and wisdom have made a significant impact on a broad range of activities and will be sorely missed by all of his Board colleagues.
