Ayr United v Dundee U16 Match Report by Karen Malcolm
On Sunday afternoon, Ayr United Under 16s hosted Dundee in the CAS U16 league. The Honest Men won 3-0 thanks to goals from McEwan, McRoberts and Allan.
The Honest Men took an early advantage on 2 minutes as McClymont played a corner into the box which was met by the head of McEwan. The centre back scored his 2nd goal in a week, having scored last week against St Johnstone. Ayr United doubled their lead in the 17th minute when Cullen played a great ball into the box and McRoberts headered home. Ayr United came close to scoring again in the 31st minute, Cullen whipped another cross in to the box but Hay’s effort was saved by the Dundee keeper. The Honest Men went into half time with the 2-0 lead. Ayr United started the second half well by adding another, this time it was Allan who got his name on the scoresheet. Fraser played a free kick into the box and Allan headered it past the Dundee keeper. Ayr United made 3 substitutions in the second half. The first substitution saw Allan replaced by Milliken, the second saw D Craig replaced by McArthur and the third saw Cullen replaced by Hislop. Ayr United thought they had scored a fourth goal in the 85th minute as McRoberts headered was saved by the keeper however there were a number of shouts that the ball had crossed the line but the referee signalled to play on and the game ended 3-0 to the home side.
A trio of headers ensured the Honest Men got all 3 points over their visitors Dundee.

Partick Thistle v Ayr United U16 Match Report by Karen Malcolm
On Tuesday evening, Ayr United Under 16s travelled to Petershill Park in Glasgow to take on Partick Thistle in the CAS U16 league. The Honest Men won 2-1 thanks to a brace from McRoberts and an Ecrepont penalty save.
Partick Thistle took the lead after 11 minutes when Ecrepont came off his line the Partick Thistle attacker rounded the goalkeeper and slotted the ball in from a tight angle. Six minutes later and Partick Thistle had the chance to double their lead when the referee pointed to the penalty spot following a foul from Hay on a Partick Thistle player inside the box. Partick Thistle were denied their 2nd by a great save from Ecrepont low to his right. Ecrepont denied Partick Thistle again in the 36th minute when the home side were awarded a free kick on the edge of the box, a great save from the Ayr United keeper kept the score at 1-0. Ayr United made a substitution a few minutes before half time when Hay was replaced by Milliken. On the stroke of half time, Ayr United got their equaliser after the Partick Thistle keeper held onto McRoberts and pulled him back just inside the box as the striker was through on goal which resulted in the referee awarding Ayr United a penalty and showing the Partick Thistle keeper a red card. McRoberts stepped up to take the penalty and the striker hit it right up the middle to pull the sides level at 1-1. In the 56th minute, Ayr United made a double substitution when Allan and Fraser were replaced by Hislop and McArthur. This substitution saw Ferguson move to the right back position to replace Fraser. In the 68th minute, Ayr United got their winner, McClymont drove towards the box and played the ball out wide to Cullen. Cullen crossed the ball into the box which was pushed away by the substitute Partick Thistle keeper however McRoberts was there to put the rebound into the net to give his side the win.
A great result for the Honest Men in what was their second game in 3 days.
